THE UPPER ROOM - Studies Life Application of the Scripture and Spiritual Growth, using Charles Stanley Studies from the Internet.

Topics include: forgiveness, discouragement, dealing with jealousy, anger, anxiety, and who we are in Christ.

Together we can share our Christian experiences and dig into the scripture for answers. If you do not know the Lord come to hear about who He is, and see how He can reveal himself to you!

FELLOWSHIP - Our membership includes young adults to seniors interested in studying current religious literature and DVD's/Videos as they relate to biblical text.

We invite all guests to join with us in Fellowship Hall immediately following the Sunday Morning Worship Service.

FRIENDSHIP CLASS - The Senior Citizens of the Scottsburg UMC decided several years ago to have a Sunday School Meeting each Sunday after church. The first year we went to a local hotel dining room. After they closed, we went several different places, but now we are currently meeting at Burger King.

We take turns reading stories about Christian people. We send cards to other seniors who are ill, hurt, or have birthdays.

We visit with each other and enjoy our times together. Our total attendance is getting less due to people moving to nursing homes or passing on. We welcome anyone who would like to join us!

 

THE GOOD SHEPHERD - Class is for children grade 1 through grade 5. Beginning the Good Shepherd hour, children make themselves ready to experience God through actions, words, and songs. they present their gifts to the Lord.

They hear and see the day's story and are encouraged to wonder about it. They respond to the story through their choice of art, crafts, or time spent handling the story figures.

Closing is a quiet time with God in the Circle Of Light followed by an individual blessing as each child leaves.

SENIOR HIGH - We are currently using the "Scripture Talks" book for class materials. This book is a collection of messages from several different pastors, youth ministers & teachers.

It applies scripture to everyday issues facing youth as well as touching on Christian topics such as Baptism and Communion. The class meetings themselves are very informal with open discussion on many topics, as well as the message for the week.

Everyone is encouraged to participate and use their own personal experiences as examples and learning tools.

JUNIOR HIGH - This class designed for grades 6-8 uses Youth Devotions by Josh McDowell. We use these devotions to start discussion that lead to subjects that the youth are experiencing and how the lessons we learn apply to their everyday lives.

We hope that this class will enable our youth to go out and live life and impress others whatt Christ is doing for them and with them. We learn about Christ through lessons, games and fellowship. All youth are welcome.

For Toddlers and Preschool age, our class is one way to help your child enjoy church as they start developing a relationship with God. We nurture in them a desire to know more about Jesus and his love.

Class time may include storytime, interactive skills, crafts, games, songs, prayer and free play time.
